The Civil War in Lenoir County
Featuring
"The Battle of Wyse Fork"
March 4-5, 2006

To the reenactor:

On March 4-5, 2006, the Historic Preservation Group and the Lenoir County Battlefields Commission will co-host a Living History and Battle Reenactment weekend in historic Lenoir County.  The sponsoring reenacting units are Northampton Artillery, 7th North Carolina State Troops, Co. F, and 18th North Carolina Troops, Co. K / 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Co. I.

Due to limited space and short preparation time, attendance will be by invitation only.   The scenarios will include artillery, infantry, and cavalry and allows us to have a 2 to 1 ratio of Confederates over Federals.  The Federals forces will be mostly galvanized Confederates.  Please help us by registering Federal if possible.  The Confederate commander is Donny Taylor, and the Federal commander is Lynn Bull.  Artillery is limited to 8 guns and will receive $200 per gun.  Several units have already received their invitations.   If you are interested in attending, contact Bob Tolar at (252)523-8958, and he will direct you to the proper contact.

All profits from the event will go into the preservation of the Lenoir County Battlefields.  Registered reenactors will receive a Barbeque Dinner on Saturday evening.  There are plans to have school programs on site Friday if we can get enough volunteers.
